Lee Norris, Stuart Minkus Of Boy Meets World, Having Sex Change To Become Chanel West Coast Is False

Lee Norris having a sex change to become actress Chanel West Coast is false. Norris is better known as Cory Matthews’ nerdy middle school classmate Stuart Minkus on “Boy Meets World.”

There is no truth to a rumor circulating social media that Norris became West Coast who is an American rapper, singer, actress, model and television personality. West Coast is came into prominence for her roles in MTV’s Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory and Ridiculousness.

Where did this rumor originate? In July 2015, a humorous social media meme circulated social media suggesting that the child actor who played the nerdy character Stuart Minkus during the first season of the ABC sitcom Boy Meets World in 1993-94 eventually underwent a sex change operation and became actress Chanel West Coast whose stage name is Chelsea Chanel Dudley.

While the meme was intended as a joke, many people on social media mistook it for a factual report that Norris had in fact changed genders and carried on with a successful acting career. However, Norris did not have a sex change to become West Coast, according to Snopes.

This is not the case, of course. Norris and West Coast are two different people who happen to bear a superficial facial resemblance (as seen in the side by side photos) to each other.

Additionally, Norris also portrayed the character Marvin ‘Mouth’ McFadden on the television drama “One Tree Hill” from 2003-2012 and reprised his role as Stuart Minkus in a couple of episodes of the spinoff sitcom Girl Meets World in 2014-15 before it was later cancelled.

Here are some examples of people sharing the rumor on social media.

Boy Meets World is a 90’s sitcom about a boy, Cory Matthews, and his journey to adulthood. With him are his best friend Shawn Hunter, his girlfriend Topanga Lawrence, his charming yet silly older brother Eric, and his teacher and next-door-neighbor George Feeny.

From 1993 to 2000, viewers followed the relationship of Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence-Matthews on “Boy Meets World.” More than a decade later, the couple’s daughter, Riley, is trying to navigate her ‘tween years — and problems that go with them — especially in regard to bonds with family and friends. At John Quincy Adams Middle School in Manhattan, Riley finds being a student more difficult because her dad is a history teacher there, and she’s in his class. Her mom, a lawyer, is involved in her social life and owns a trendy teen hangout. Among Riley’s classmates are best friend Maya, crush Lucas, and quirky Farkle, son of Cory and Topanga’s peer Stuart Minkus.
