President Donald Trump having signed more legislation than former President Harry Truman is false. Trump said that he has signed more legislation than any other president and broke the record held by Truman. However, Politifact reported that Trump ranks last among the 10 post-war presidents who began their term on the regular cycle despite starting strong in his first 100 days.
On Dec. 27, Trump said, “You know, one of the things that people don’t understand — we have signed more legislation than anybody. We broke the record of Harry Truman.”
In a report published on Dec. 21, 2017, govtrack.us wrote that “Trump has sunk to last place with 94 bills signed into law by his 336th day in office (today). That’s eight fewer than President George W. Bush and not even half as many as presidents Bill Clinton (209) and George H.W. Bush (242).”
Since that report was released, Trump signed two bills, including a major tax bill. The report further added that Trump “has not held the title of signing the most new legislation since his 101st day” in office and has been in the bottom half for most of his presidency.
Here are some reactions on social media to Trump’s claim that he has signed more legislation.
Trump kept repeating over and over that he had the most “Legislative Approvals” of any President since Truman. He’s insane. He’s speaking gibberish.

Trump says he’s passed more bills since Truman.
Turns out he’s actually passed the least since Eisenhower.
Unreal. And yet so very like him.

When Trump boasted that, in his 1st 100 days, he passed more legislation than any Pres, did he not know FDR passed 98 Truman 55 Eisenhower 23, Clinton 22, Obama 15 & others as many as he had?….Or was it his congenital lying gene at work?

Of course, the importance of each legislation is different. The numbers for all presidents include less significant bills. It is also noteworthy that Trump has been working with a Congress controlled by his own party, which is not a luxury that some of his predecessors have enjoyed during their tenure.
