Friends: The Movie Trailer With David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston For 2018 Release Is A Hoax

A movie involving the cast of “Friends” is a fan-made trailer. A fake movie trailer fooled some on social media into believing that their favorite television show about friends and their favorite coffee house was coming out in 2018. However, there is no truth to a trailer for “Friends: The Movie.” While the fan-made trailer for “Friends: The Movie” fooled and excited many on social media, the trailer is a hoax.

From 1994-2004, NBC’s Friends delivered 10 seasons of tears and laughter from the dysfunctional group of twenty-somethings in New York City. At a time when revivals are all the craze with Will & Grace and Roseanne as some examples, fans would love to see more of “Friends” with Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer. However, that will not be happening.

The three-minute clip, titled The One With The Reunion, was uploaded to YouTube earlier this week and already has over a million views. You can watch the fan-made teaser below.

At the time, you can enjoy your favorite episodes of Friends on Netflix. There have been many imagined scenarios about what Ross, Rachel, Monica, Chandler, Joey, and Phoebe would be up to all these years later, but trailer edit channel Smasher created a possible idea with “The One With The Reunion.” The trailer cleverly is packed with clips from shows like “Cougar Town” and “Joey” to make it look real.

Hopes of an actual reunion have been squashed several times by different cast members. In 2017, Aniston told the Huffington Post that the rise of technology in the modern day has rendered the idea of a revival hard. Aniston said, “We were jokingly saying that if Friends was created today, you would have a coffee shop full of people that were just staring into iPhones. There would be no actual episodes or conversations.”

Here are some reactions on social media to the fan-made trailer for “Friends: The Movie.”
