For a while, if it was plugged in, it would constantly be deactivated and detected in Windows, as if it was shorting – zew2500; it never did this on the other zeq2500p I tested it with.
For me, Windows 7 is managing my home network. The drivers off the disk don’t work. I ended up reinstalling Windows 7, which fixed System restore but didn’t help with the wireless card. Every time I attempted to do a restore even after rebooting, uninstalling the drivers and RaLink softwareI would get a “catastrophic failure” error message.

Windows automatically installed a driver and it showed up in the taskbar using the wireless networking utility built into Windows. It trashed my new bit Windows 7 desktop that I purchased it for.

The situation will require some hands-on troubleshooting to be better able to isolate the problem. For this problem, do you think it would be better to contact the desktop manufacturer or the wireless adapter manufacturer for support? Ugh, this is such an idiotic problem to have. Annoyed, I installed the driver off of the disk, with the USB card still plugged in as it says to do – the progress bar reached the end, but then it froze until I finally gave up and unplugged the wireless card, upon which the installation finished.
It works fine on my ezw2500p Windows 7 bit desktop.
It could be the BIOS; it could be a defective MB; zew250p could be a hardware conflict; it could be corrupt system files; it could be almost anything causeing the problem. Hi Lonesoldier, I believe we share the same hardware. I have finally fixed this mystery of a problem. The problem was my mobo. Ugh, this is such an idiotic problem to have. It means there is something different about your particular system that is causing the problem.
