On American Idol, Catie Turner kicked off her second performance of the night by flubbing on “Manic Monday” by The Bangles. However, she recovered an delivered a good rendition. The show obtained the rights to the entire catalogue of Prince for the evening’s performances. After seeing an early Bangles show in Los Angeles, Prince sent the band a tape with two original songs he wanted them to record. One was “Manic Monday,” a jangly, infectious diary of 9-to-5 office blues.
Luke Bryan said that Catie has not had one glitch since the beginning. Luke said to shake it off as she was still having a good night. Lionel Ritchie said that he loved the elusion that they have created. Lionel said that it is never perfect. Lionel said it is called recovery. Lionel noted that she recovered fantastically.
Katy Perry said that she would probably not be on this planet if there was a video of all her mistakes. Katy said that Catie is destined and to just believe in it.
