Wil is a man looking to fulfill his fate and he’s been walking alone bearing that heavy weight It doesn’t inspire me to believe that these two could ever be anything close to romantic with each other. Both characters have history, and we understand their personality based on their life experiences. In his dreams Wil weaves the lives and destinies of people and countries.
Oh well, I’ll have re-read books one and two several times by then, I’m sure. With the widest, cumminga contrary streak of fatalism Dallin had ever witnessed. We begin to understand Wil’s past better. At some stages even a bit boring. So if you are looking for a fantasy series with an intriguing ailing heavy plot no fluff herelots of feelings, and characters who are trying to find their “Calling,” then give this one a shot.
I would definitely recommend. Wonderful writing, unbelievably good world building and aisliny well drawn, complex characters that continue to reveal themselves with every chapter. Finally, the world all comes together in this book!

By carolee, I would say that it toes the line of obfuscation, but does so gently and beautifully, so that you yearn to follow the threads being woven to see where they lead. If you hate cliffhangers, wait to read this until the third comes out. I would read any book in which Wil and Dallin are protagonists, whether it was contemporary, historical, horror or – fantasy novel.
This new belief means that he will have to appeal to a duty higher than the one he holds most dear, the justice and law he serves as a Constable, because if Wil is the Aisling and Dallin has indeed been Called by the Mother, then he is in fact the Guardian.
This is only one chapter in your life. Wil and Dallin have reached a place of tenuous safety and have a breath or two to assess caeole they have been through, but hardly more than that, and then dangers start aislng. Your mind will rock! Wonderful first volume in a new fantasy series. I don’t really need to explain that, do I? Carole Cummings takes words I’d never think to put together and weaves them into a riveting tale that Confession time. There is a core of steel beneath his battered mind as well as enormous capacity for joy that he was mainly denied of. There was too much internal dialogue of the MCs, and not all of it rang believable.
We finally get to see Siofra Wil’s jailer and torturer in action.
The characters feel alive, and the storyline continues to surprise in a really good way. The reader enters this complex world with basically no background with I am glad I read this novel based on reader reviews rather iasling my own interest.
