Of course, I admit that a good Hickok tester is “Tits” as we used to say in college at OSU in the early ’70’s when restored and calibrated. I’ve noticed that currently a good used Hickok tube tester meter on Ebay will sell for about as much as our original house mortgage was 35 years ago.
These units have the same socket complement as A, except for A hiickok has 9 and 12 pin compactron, and is more expensive for that reason. The problem I have is that it doesn’t make sense where that loose wire came from or goes to. Trying to read the schematic and make it relate to the build is really taxing my memory skills Sounds like someone has been doing some “repair” work in there.
The “C” model is the premium model with 9 53 12 pin compactron sockets. There are 6 or 8 spools mounted below the mho selector switch and I am having a heck of a time trying to relate the wiring between the spools and the schematic.
It could simply be misadjustment of the zero setting on the meter, but that seems unlikely. So I went digging and found an open ohm spool resistor.
