I thought people might want to hear about results from someone not necessarily looking to lose weight, but simply to see how I felt and the benefits I experienced. We originally started on an Omega masticating juicer, but it’s simply too time consuming to juice times a day with it. It only takes a couple days, but helps with the mindset preparation.
There are other things as well, but you will really go three these things.
I am not a huge coffee drinker, but drink cups a day. Giving this up left me with a headache by the end of day 1. But by day 2, it was gone. The first 2 days were the hardest hunger-wise, but dayss bad. The juices are fruity 7lbd appetizing, and the greener juicer don’t show up until after the first couple of days.
This is probably by design to make the program more palatable to a wider range of people. By day 5, I felt great and was slightly hungry but not bad.

I worked out during the program every day. I ran 5 miles on two occasions and did calisthenics every day. I think this is important for men that aren’t looking to lose too much muscle mass. Surprisingly, I felt great on my workouts and runs.
Definitely lighter and fresher. Definitely start with the hot lemon water each morning, and I recommend ending with the “hon-n-spicy” each night, which is listed as optional.

Especially if you are hungry, this hot apple juice helps satiate you until morning. Some of the drinks are decedent, with bananas and yogurt added. So you get pretty close to as full as eating a few times during the week. I lost 8 lbs. Again, I wasn’t looking to lose any necessarily, but of course expected to lose some. It seems to just flatten out your midsection, and I don’t feel like I lost much muscle.
I felt great when I finished. Another bonus is that I felt great giving up coffee, and haven’t gone back to it. You really lose a lot of cravings during the week, and after a juice in the morning the harshness of coffee is no longer appealing. Likewise, I felt like eating light and healthy, and craved things like almonds, salads, and guacamole. I went back to my longer workouts in the gym, and feel great. I have kept with juicing at least twice a day, and plan to keep with it.
I think wheat grass and spirulina are worth getting, which are suggested supplements. I also used the probiotic pills, but don’t think those did much for me. My wife did it with me, and also lost exactly 8 pounds. She did about minutes of aerobic-based workouts each day. Overall, I think this is a great program.
Seven days seems long enough to get the full benefits and really transition your taste buds and alter your physique, but not so long as to be dzys. I purchased this book quite some time ago but just recently got the chance to read it and devote a week to doing the week of juicing. I am a woman 5″6″ and lbs that already follows a very strict, clean lifestyle.
I avoid GMOs, do all of my own cooking with only whole foods, stick with organic everything, eat no red meat, no gluten or sugar and limit my dairy. I wasn’t doing this juice plan to lose weight, but rather to enhance my lifestyle up another notch.
The book was easy to read since most of the back of the book are the recipes and plan to follow. I devoted a week, which was difficult, to make no lunch or dinner plans with friends and to basically take seven days to be primarily at home to follow this juicing program.
My issue with this started on the first morning as it has you doing the morning lemon water at 7am. My first morning started a little later so it threw my juicing times off the entire day.
I also had errands to run here and there and would plan my day around the juicing times, which was really inconvenient. I normally don’t eat anything at least three hours prior to my bedtime so I was wondering how I was also going to fit all of these juices into my entire day. One other factor I didn’t like was that the juices were very very sweet loaded with lots of fructose apple and pineapple juice. Juices I normally drink are green juices with no sweetener so by the end of Day 1, it was almost nauseating for me to have to drink yet another sweet juice, but I did it.
That entire day and evening, I was so exhausted, I went to bed at 9: I woke the next morning with yet having to do another round of sweet juices that I’m not used to feeling so tired and exhausted all day. I was too tired to do any workouts and haven’t felt that tired in years. Again, another 11 hour sleep night. By day 3, I cut out some of the sweeteners in the juices as I couldn’t bear them. By dinner on Day 3, I was so tired I stopped and ended up tossing a bunch of chopped veggies from the ingredient list, spiraled the zucchini and threw it in some bone broth.
Eating normal whole, unsweetened food was so glorious. I immediately felt so much better. I’d like to point out another issue I had with this book. He gives a shopping list for Day then again for Day Well on Day 1, you had to start with 35 apples. By Day 3 I still had the majority of my apples and he has you buying another 35 apples for days ???? Well, by the end of the juicing week, this broccoli may have gone bad and the actually broccoli wasn’t even used!!!
Now that’s for organic ingredients, but I thought it was quite expensive and not utilizing everything purchased. The only reason I’m giving this two stars is because a couple of the recipes are interesting and I do like how he juices some ingredients and blending those in with wheatgrass or avocados.
For the holidays this year I was going to buy my friend, who is trying to lose weight, a juicer and this book, but I’m so glad I tried it first as I wouldn’t recommend this to her.

This book may be good for someone who has that sweet tooth, but know you have to devote a week to 7lbd being around the house and basically doing nothing else but to be fale every three hours.
What I would recommend is juicing a day each month or so and in my case, I will limit the fruit used. My husband and I did this together for the full 7 days and really benefited!
We both dropped exactly 7 pounds each, got rid of our abdominal “fluff”, increased our energy, and decreased our dependence on caffeine and energy drinks. Jason is a hilarious, down to earth author and says it like it is.
